I liked that I got to work with many different teams to gain exposure to other potential career directions. It also included a group project with peers so I was able to meet other interns from all across the QVC/HSN business.
What I wish was different
I wish it had been a hybrid model as opposed to fully virtual. This was challenging to adapt to as the work schedule was 9-5, five days a week.
Advice
I would recommend taking advantage of all networking opportunities by reaching out to various team members in different areas of the business. QVC has so many facets of the on-air experience which can make for such a rewarding experience.

Warehouse Stocker
July - August 2020 • Bethlehem, PA
What I liked
The pay was great and I only worked 4 days a week
What I wish was different
I wish HR was better at communicating with me. I stopped working there because they could not transfer me to part time since school was starting again. They never let me know so I though they fired me. 2 months later, they told me that I was supposed to be working on the part time schedule but no one ever called me to tell me that
Advice
Remember that if a company is not going to be considerate of your education and give you less hours, you don't need to be considerate of the company

Organic Social Media Intern
May 2019 • West Chester, PA
What I liked
I loved how hands on it was. This was not a typical post daily on Instagram type of social media internship. I was apart of the content creation process. I was able to lead my own projects & I was able to network with different parts of the business as well. I was not just treated as an intern I was looked at as an employee.
What I wish was different
I wish the pay was higher & that they would be more open about full time positions.
Advice
If you are commuting from the Philadelphia area be prepared for long drives & countless hours in traffic. If you do not absolutely love the position you are in it will not be worth it. Make sure you are ready to 100% commit to your job at the Q.

Finance Intern
June - August 2019 • West Chester, PA
What I liked
I enjoyed the team I was working with, the intern project we completed over the course of the summer, and the networking & professional growth opportunities throughout the summer. It was a great learning experience, as well as a fun environment to work in.
What I wish was different
I think this is the case with any internship experience, but there were times when I felt I did not have enough work and I did not have anything to work on during the day. It was necessary for me to create things to do on my own related to the intern project.
Advice
Make the most of the walk-a-miles. It is a great opportunity to meet people from all areas of the company and learn how everything fits together!

Advice
Take advantage of the walk a mile opportunities.

Information Security Intern
May - August 2019 • West Chester, PA
What I liked
I learned so much, and they threw me into work that they actually did. Every Friday we had “Lunch and Learns”, where someone from another department would come and talk to us interns about what they did, introducing us to many different types of work outside of our own. We also took on a project that could later be used by one of the teams there.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had worked in Software Development rather than Cybersecurity, although my team was great.
Advice
Learn as much as you can from as many different people as you can. There’s a lot of people there willing to sit down with you and talk to you about whatever you have questions about. It’s worthwhile to take advantage of this.

Accounting Intern
May 2019 • West Chester, PA
What I liked
The work I do is very applicable to public accounting where many students find themselves after graduation. The work was also challenging and gave me a good opportunity to learn and grow professionally.
What I wish was different
I wish I gotten to know my department more when I started because I feel like I am just starting to get to know them and all they do at the company. Making those connections from the start makes for a better working relationship later on!
Advice
ASK QUESTIONS and BE HONEST! People do not know something unless you let them know that so do not be afraid to speak up and ask questions about what people are showing you.

IT Intern
May - August 2018 • West Chester, PA
What I liked
I loved the atmosphere of the workplace. Everyone was very relaxed and vacation time was never declined. Everyone was there to help you learn and was free at any time to help. Our mentors would stop what they were doing so that they could help us solve a problem or get our coding environments up and running. So much time was put into the interns and team building, as well as the entire internship program being very well organized. I was never bored and always had work to do.
What I wish was different
Some of the other interns complained of opposite situations, never having anything to do even after asking for work. These gripes were brought up to the leaders of the program and we were told action would be taken for the next group of interns to avoid a repeat. I don't think I would change anything else about the program.
Advice
Many people think that QVC is just a shopping channel on TV for the elderly. They are very much an online retailer as well, and the personalities seen on TV are genuine. QVC is a great company with tons of possibilities for internships and careers. If you would like a fun job with people who like to do what they do, check Handshake or the QVC hiring portal to see what is available. There are so many positions that pretty much anyone could find a place to put themselves. Also being a developer is slow, but pretty sick.
