Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Many members of the HR / People and Culture team made an effort to be inclusive of interns and allow them professional growth. My mentor was the kindest and most flexible supervisor I have ever had. The pay and flexibility were also fantastic and supported a student schedule well.
What I wish was different
There is a lot of power difference between the full-time staff and the interns. There is very little opportunity for interns to work with teams other than the one they were hired for, and very little interaction of the interns with one another. The environment was very isolating, especially as a job that is 100% remote. Also, the company doesn't actually care about its employees. Throughout the entire time I worked there (2.5 years), there was consistent talk of full-time employees being burnt out, having far too many meetings, being low-staffed, etc. Yet all the company would do is put out surveys, then have internal meetings about the survey results, then no further action was ever taken. Even as an intern, I felt burnt out by the lack of effort or empathy from the company's leadership. The turnover rate for this company is extremely high. I wish I had not stayed with this job for as long as I did - it was not worth what it did to my mental state.
Advice
Only work for this company if you can adapt a "a job is just a job" mindset. The more you pour into this company, the more it will suck the life out of you.

What I liked
I like the friendly atmosphere. Everyone was welcoming and were willing to help me with any questions that I had. It's a learning experience and not like the internships where you just run errands for others the whole time. I learn new things and feel like I am actually contributing to the company in a positive way.
What I wish was different
Not much, sometimes I wish I had a little bit of more work to do. For the most part, I like everything about this company and my internship.
Advice
Too keep an open-mind and it's what you make of it.

What I liked
MiHIN is a fast-paced environment that is one of a kind. Each individual is encouraged to be their best and make a difference. The dynamic of this company will leave a lasting impact on anyone who has the privilege to work here.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more interns in my department, there was a lot of work to be done. The company is rapidly growing and I see this issue resolving in the near future.
Advice
Ask questions, and don't be afraid to fail. MiHIN allows you to work alongside full time employees on projects that will go into production. Give yourself time to learn all of the Health IT lingo as well. It takes time!
