Flexible hours, enjoyable work environment. I get to do what I love every single day.
What I wish was different
This temporary position turned into...a temporary position? I've been working here for over three years (year round, part-time to full-time hours) and I'm still classified as a temporary employee. In other words, NO BENEFITS.
Advice
Get in, get experience, enjoy your time here, and move on. There isn't much room for growth.

Urban Planning Intern

What I liked
I liked sitting in on city planning and zoning meetings that discussed the distribution of city "green space" and how to work that in with new development. Traveling to different park sites and learning the standard operating procedures for how the city functions was great insight to what a policy maker should look out for when implementing ideas for future city development.
What I wish was different
I would have liked to shadow the city policy makers for a short period of time to see how they interact with the urban planners I worked with.
Advice
Be willing to do the "busy work" around the office, and look at every task you're given as an opportunity to learn about how the real world works.
