There was a lot to love here. I really enjoyed the office environment. Everyone that I worked with was very helpful whenever I had questions, and everyone would hang out after work pretty frequently. I also enjoyed how I was treated as an intern. Instead of receiving the busy work that others didn't want, I was given meaningful projects to work on. The tasks that I was given forced me to step outside of my comfort zone, but I never felt like I was being sent into tasks alone.
What I wish was different
The experience that I had with Xerxes was phenomenal. Thinking back on my time there, I really can't think of anything that I wish had been done differently.
Advice
My biggest piece of advice for anyone interning at any position under Xerxes is to say yes to every opportunity. It took me way longer than I would have liked to learn this lesson. Once I started accepting opportunities to experience new work/projects, I started learning faster and picked up skills that I otherwise would have missed out on. I really feel like I gained at least two internships worth of experience in just 11 weeks.

What I liked
The thing I appreciated most was that my managers and mentor were always determined to provide me with meaningful projects that I could learn from. In addition, everyone at the company is always super approachable and willing to help out in any way they can.

Advice
My biggest piece of advice would be to go into this experience with a passion for learning. There might be some times where the answer to a problem isn't necessarily transparent, and you might have to bring other people in to find the answer. This experience of learning how to deconstruct the problem and reaching the solution was one of my biggest takeaways this summer.
