Social Media & Marketing Intern

Essential Responsibilities: 

The Social Media intern’s primary function is to support the Director of Sales & Marketing and the Marketing & Graphic Design Manager with execution of all social media  activities on behalf of the National Hotel.

Social Media Intern role is responsible for the ongoing management and growth the National Hotel Miami Beach social media presence in alignment with business strategies and direction. 

Position Summary

  • Creates and curates social media content in accordance with brand standards and guidelines under the direction of the Marketing Manager and the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Responds to guest comments on review sites and liaises directly with hotel team to escalate guest service issues.
  • Exercises independent judgment in all facets of work including photo/video shoots, social media, review sites and other matters that reflect upon the company.
  • Researches credentials of journalists and bloggers requesting accommodations.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of the hotel events, media FAM trips, community events.
  • Assists in the completion of special projects as assigned.
  • Takes initiative and follows through on all assignments.
  • Assists other departments and team members by providing images, logos, copy, and usage guidelines.
  • Assist with posting on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets for the brand.
  • Maintain online local listings and promotions including Yelp and TripAdvisor.

  • Assist in auditing online marketing including Search, Google Display, Facebook, and META.
  • Function as marketing dept. key point of contact for hotel support of marketing requests and coordinate ongoing marketing projects to completion with appropriate vendors as assigned.
  • Generate monthly marketing reports consisting of search engine marketing, email marketing, website production, and other various online and print marketing channels.
  • Maintain vendor relationships to ensure invoices are processed and billing is paid on time, working in conjunction with Accounts Payable team.
  • Other assignments as directed by supervisor.
  • Support Marketing Team with hands on role in new property website build including content gathering, copy editing and organization of creative materials
  • Assist and support the team in the development and production of all creative materials
  • Maintain an organized tracking system for assigned marketing projects
  • Maintain ongoing communication with hotel staff as needed
  • Assist with property event planning, including brainstorming, collaborating with PR Team and Property Teams
  • Assist in managing marketing library and with research for marketing initiatives
  • Participate in social media content calendar

Required Skills and Experience

 Proficient in computer software: Word, Excel, Power Point

Interest in marketing, media and brand strategy

Active social media user

Must be highly organized and with strong attention to detail and follow up

Exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Knowledge of social media legal guidelines, digital marketing, email marketing.

Hands on experience in content management

Knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics

Knowledge of online marketing channels

BSc degree in Marketing or relevant field
