Internship Fall 2017: Social Media and Public Relations Intern

Fall 2017 Internship Opportunity:  The Social Media / Public Relations intern will help increase Omniangle’s social media presence/increase followers and build brand awareness through public relations activities. The intern will gain strong experience building brand recognition for an innovative cyber intelligence company using social media and implementing public relations tactics.   Opportunities to work on additional marketing projects are also available.

The intern will be mentored and work one-on-one with the Vice-President of Communications on a daily basis.

Social Media Responsibilities:

  • Create brand awareness and increase followers for Omniangle on LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Monitor and engage audiences on social media platforms resulting in shares, likes, and follows.
  • Analyze social media reports and adjust current strategies to optimize results.

Public Relations Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify relevant industry insiders.
  • Research to find and engage with industry publications/organizations.
  • Build and maintain a database of media, pitch reporters, industry leaders.
  • Identify who to connect with on social media.
  • Identify speaking opportunities and article submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage social media platforms for marketing and branding purposes using Hootsuite (training provided).
  • Work with minimal to medium supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and is comfortable taking initiative and working in collaboration.
  • Strong familiarity with mainstream social media platforms.

Outcomes:
  • Gain knowledge of a social media management tool used for messaging and scheduling, used commercially at most Fortune 500 companies.  
  • Hands on experience executing and tracking brand strategies using social media and public relations efforts.
  • Understanding of marketing best practices and processes.
  • Experience in planning and executing additional marketing efforts such as events and marketing collateral.
  • Ability to research and present industry research to internal teams.

Preferred Majors: Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business

Required GPA: 3.0 higher

Official Start Date: August 21, 2017 (Fall Semester)

Compensation:  Unpaid

Location: Headquarters in Weston, Florida
