A summer spent working at French Woods can give you more experience and more professional contacts in less time than anything else you could do. As you work with the campers you will also work with other professionals in your field and you will have opportunities to learn and grow along with them in the intense environment that summer camp provides.
Living and working in our vibrant community is fun, rewarding, and challenging. We hire professionals, teachers, experts and students in a wide variety of positions spanning artistic and creative fields, theater and technical theater, music, sports and fitness, circus, magic and more.
The French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts Summer Camp Music program is one of the finest non-competitive, comprehensive summer camp music programs in the United States. Students are given instruction on all levels and perform in ensembles based on their age/ability and schedule.
We hire staff for all orchestral instruments (Bassoon, Bass, Cello, Clarinet, Flute, French Horn, Keyboard, Oboe, Percussion, Sax, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba Viola, Violin, etc.), piano, drums, voice and guitar.
Staff members and professional musicians play side by side with their students. This support enables the French Woods' classical symphony to perform a concert within two weeks from the start of camp. Other youth orchestras normally take months to be ready to perform. There are also unique opportunities to work with the Theater Camp as a member of pit orchestras for Broadway productions.
