Athletic Marketing Graduate Intern
The Harvard University
Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for an 8-10 month
internship in Athletic Marketing and Promotions. The intern will report
directly to the Associate Athletic Director of Sales and Marketing and the
Marketing Manager. Responsibilities include: assisting in the development and
implementation of marketing plans; creating and executing promotions for all 42
Varsity programs, especially concentrated on football, men’s and women’s
hockey, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse; increasing attendance
through group sales initiatives; in particular managing youth team programs.
Day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to: updating marketing content
on the website; game-day planning, writing scripts; set up/ breakdown of
promotions; distribution of marketing collateral throughout the University and
in the Boston area; fulfilling sponsorship commitments, building community
relations, and growing database. The individual will also be involved
with marketing and working with various student groups to enhance the game day
experience for all varsity sports programs. Other responsibilities include
overseeing the Crimson Kids Club, supervising student assistants, and soliciting
group ticket sales and program advertising sales.
A highly motivated individual is desired with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Previous experience in promotions, marketing, and event management is highly beneficial. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop is required. Familiarity with multimedia technology, such as computer and video management is preferred.
The approximate start date of the internship is July/August, with an end date 8-10 months thereafter.
