Mechanical Design HVAC / Engineer II

POSITION: Mechanical Design Engineer

(Also referred to as Intermediate Engineer / Technical Engineer II)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Currently seeking experienced Mechanical Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in HVAC design (Plumbing a plus).

·       Responsible for project management and coordination with the client.

·       Responsible for the development, design, and integration of HVAC design implementation.

·       Perform design cooling/heating load and energy calculations.

·       Coordinate project assignments with lead engineers and other designers.

·       Review drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and architects and recommend necessary changes.

·       Research code issues and works with City, State, and County officials.

·       Must have minimum 5 and up to 10 years of experience in HVAC design.

·       BS in Mechanical Engineering required; E.I. or P.E. a plus.

·       Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel and Word required.

·       Familiarity with cooling loads, program software and energy software.

·       Knowledge of codes and ability to research code issues.

·       Project Management experience required.

·       Experience with fire protection system design is a plus.

·       Must have initiative and be resourceful; Motivated self-starter.

·       Good analytical mind and great communication skills.

·       Ability to work with a team of other designers, engineers and company principals.
