Software Engineer

SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Gaumard Scientific Company, a world leader in health care simulation products, is currently looking to expand our Software Engineering Team. Gaumard has manufactured and marketed simulators for health care education for more than 60 years.
Users worldwide – the military, emergency medical services, major teaching hospitals and nursing schools – recognize Gaumard products for their innovation in simulation in the pre-hospital, obstetrics and gynecology, surgical and nursing care segments. In 2000, Gaumard launched the revolutionary family of NOELLE® maternal and neonatal care simulators that changed the way training is conducted. In 2004, Gaumard pioneered the use of fully tether less technology with the introduction of the family of HAL® simulators. In 2014, the company introduced Victoria™, its most advanced, mobile maternal/fetal simulator as part of the NOELLE family.
Gaumard manufactures its products at its world headquarters in Miami. The company sells simulators through its own representatives in North America and through 200 distributors in 70 countries.
Medical simulation is having a transformative impact on health care, especially experiential learning. The Software Engineer is responsible for design, development, planning and implementing computer models to support the organization's proprietary medical simulation software.

DUTIES:
• Create animated content for medical applications
• Create 3D models, assets, and animation rigs
• Create tools and workflows to speedup 3D animation pipeline 
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience
• Intermediate proficiency in Maya and/or Blender
• Proficient in rigging character and organic models in Maya and/or Blender
• Proficiency in modeling character and/or anatomical forms
• Good grasp of low poly modeling, retopologizing, UV mapping, texturing, and painting skin weights
• C#, MEL/Python scripting knowledge
• Strong interest in creating content for medical applications
• Portfolio or showreel demonstrating rigging, animation and 3D generalist skill
• Amazing attention to detail, self-motivated and collaborative
• Passion for creating new, innovative, and ground-breaking user experiences
• Clean, readable writing, and easily maintainable code 

STRONGLY DESIRED:
• Deep knowledge of Unity 3D and C#
• Augmented or Virtual reality experience
• Experience with Kinect, Leap Motion, Gesture recognition
• User interface and rapid prototyping experience
• Understanding of computer vision algorithms, spatial mapping, shaders
• Possess new technology curiosity and a history of self-technical education
