The Employee Health Department at The University of Kansas Health System is seeking two motivated and detail-oriented interns for a short-term position (up to six months).  The primary responsibilities of the intern will be assisting with annual respirator fit testing and influenza vaccine program for hospital staff, physicians, residents, and volunteers. In addition, the intern may support other departmental duties, such as health screenings, educational initiatives, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the logistics and administration of the annual respirator fit testing and influenza vaccine program.
  • Communicate with hospital staff regarding vaccination schedules and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee participation.
  • Support health screenings and other employee health programs.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting for various health initiatives.
  • Provide administrative assistance as needed within the department.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Nursing, Occupational Health, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in employee health and wellness programs.
