Social Media Intern
Position Summary:
The Social Media Intern will play a central role in developing and executing our social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Facebook. This is a hands-on, high-impact role — you won't just be scheduling posts. You'll be shaping how our brand shows up in culture, sparking conversations with our community, and building campaigns that inspire our followers to share their own elevated beach moments.
This role is ideal for a rising junior, senior, or recent graduate with a genuine passion for coastal lifestyle, content creation, and brand-building. If your personal feed already looks like a mood board and you instinctively know what makes people double-tap, we want to hear from you.
Length of the internship will be through the summer, with the potential to continue.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation
- Develop and produce high-quality, on-brand content daily across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Facebook — including static posts, Reels, Stories, and short-form video.
- Maintain a consistent elevated, editorial aesthetic that reflects our brand identity — think sun-drenched tones, aspirational but approachable, always coastal.
- Write compelling, voice-aligned captions that balance lifestyle storytelling with calls-to-action.
- Assist in planning and participating in content shoots (photo and video), including location scouting, prop styling, and behind-the-scenes capture.
User-Generated Content (UGC) Strategy
- Develop and execute campaigns specifically designed to inspire and incentivize followers to create and share their own Elevated Beach content.
- Monitor brand mentions, hashtags, and tagged posts to identify, curate, and request permission to repost high-quality UGC.
- Build relationships with brand enthusiasts and micro-influencers who authentically align with our aesthetic and values.
- Maintain an organized UGC library, cataloging content by theme, platform, and campaign for easy retrieval.
Daily Posting & Scheduling
- Own the day-to-day publishing cadence across all platforms, ensuring posts go live at optimal times for engagement.
- Build and maintain a weekly and monthly content calendar in coordination with product launches, seasonal moments, and marketing campaigns.
- Ensure consistency in brand voice, visual identity, and hashtag strategy across every post.
Community Engagement
- Respond to comments, DMs, and brand mentions promptly and authentically — in a voice that feels warm, elevated, and human.
- Proactively engage with followers, industry accounts, and lifestyle communities to grow our reach and deepen relationships.
- Identify and participate in trending conversations relevant to beach, travel, wellness, and coastal living.
- Flag customer feedback, questions, or issues to the appropriate team members for follow-up.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track key performance metrics (reach, impressions, engagement rate, follower growth, UGC volume) on a weekly basis.
- Compile regular performance reports with insights and recommendations to optimize future content.
Position Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Active, daily user of Instagram and TikTok with a genuine understanding of how each platform's algorithm and culture works.
- Strong visual eye — you can spot an off-brand photo from a mile away and know instinctively what looks elevated versus generic.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different platforms and campaign contexts.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Capable of creating authentic, engaging video content.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with content creation tools: Canva, Adobe Lightroom, CapCut, InShot, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling platforms (Later, Hootsuite, Planoly, or similar).
- Previous experience in a brand, agency, or lifestyle-oriented internship — even running your own highly-curated social account counts.
- Knowledge of UGC strategy, influencer marketing, or community-building tactics.
- Passion for coastal lifestyle, outdoor living, wellness, or premium consumer brands.
- Basic knowledge of social media analytics and performance reporting.
