Lead product designer

-Lead end-to-end design for Harmonic’s AI-native startup discovery platform, overseeing the definition, architecture, and continuous evolution of all user-facing interfaces.
- Architect and maintain the Harmonic Design System — developing scalable foundations (color, spacing, typography, motion, theming) and reusable React component libraries that enable
rapid feature development by multiple engineering teams.
- Establish UX patterns and governance processes for consistency across products and teams, including component versioning, documentation standards, and peer-review workflows.
- Conduct structured user research, usability tests, and heuristic evaluations to assess product clarity, learnability, and workflow efficiency; document findings and translate them into
actionable design iterations.
-Translate complex, AI-generated data and startup insights into intuitive visualizations and workflows — including dashboards, filters, trend views, and data-driven recommendations.
-Develop and maintain detailed design documentation (interaction specs, component diagrams, state logic) to ensure seamless handoff and alignment with engineering partners.
-Collaborate closely with front-end engineering teams to define implementation standards using React, TypeScript, Vite, BaseUI, Radix UI, ShadCN, and Framer Motion; advise on
accessibility, scalability, and performance optimization in production code.
-Integrate accessibility (WCAG 2.1/ARIA) and privacy compliance standards into all product design decisions and document these requirements within design specs and validation testing.
- Implement UX quality and analytics frameworks by defining measurable KPIs (e.g., task success rate, time-to-complete, engagement, feature adoption) and using tools such as, Heap
Hex, Omlet for ongoing design optimization.
-Create interactive prototypes, design tokens, and Figma component libraries that align engineering and design teams while ensuring brand consistency and responsive design across
breakpoints.
- Lead internal design education and documentation initiatives, developing guides, hosting workshops, and mentoring product designers to improve craft, velocity, and system adoption.
- Partner with leadership on long-term design vision and experimentation roadmap, focusing on above-the-line, AI-powered user interfaces that evolve with advancing AI capabilities.
Employee will be eligible to telecommute.
