About A2 (Anthropocene Alliance):
A2 (Anthropocene Alliance) is the nation’s largest coalition of frontline communities fighting for climate and environmental justice. We work with over 400 member communities across the U.S. to support grassroots leaders addressing pollution, climate change, and systemic environmental inequities.
About In Times Like These:
In Times Like These is A2’s narrative podcast exploring the lived experiences of frontline communities facing environmental injustice. Through interviews, field recordings, and documentary storytelling, the podcast highlights the human impact of climate change and grassroots efforts to fight back.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, passionate Podcasting Intern to support the production of In Times Like These. Interns will gain hands-on experience in documentary-style podcasting, including story development, scriptwriting, audio editing, and interview production. This role is ideal for someone interested in environmental storytelling and long-form narrative audio. We are happy to work with colleges and universities to arrange for the internship to count as academic credit, if applicable.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in researching and developing episode concepts grounded in environmental justice issues
- Support scriptwriting and narrative structuring for documentary-style episodes
- Help cultivate audio, including interviews, narration, and ambient sound
- Assist in preparing and organizing interview materials, including questions and background research
- Draft show notes, episode descriptions, and supporting written content
- Support podcast promotion through social media and digital platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interest in environmental justice, climate storytelling, and/or narrative journalism
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with an ear for narrative flow
- Interest in documentary-style podcasts
- Self-starter with strong time management, creativity, and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Proficiency with social media tools and platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Computer literacy (preference given to those with proficiency in Canva, video editing, and graphic design)
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Airtable, or other digital organizing tools
- Experience with or connection to frontline communities strongly encouraged
