Business Management Intern

SCOPE USA, Inc.is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports university engineering students to design and open-source public safety and disaster preparedness technology. Our students also engage their local communities through workshops oriented around public safety, STEM awareness, and disaster preparedness. 

Our interns help power every part of the organization. Interns work directly with our leadership team to advance SCOPE's mission. You'll gain real nonprofit experience, build skills you can carry into any career, and contribute to work that strengthens community safety across Florida and beyond.

Business Management Intern

The Business Management Intern supports SCOPE's organizational strategy, financial planning, and operational development. Working closely with leadership, this intern takes on projects that strengthen SCOPE's infrastructure and long-term sustainability as a nonprofit.

Example Projects & Activities

  • Strategic planning (co-developing short, mid-, and long-term plans for SCOPE and its university Hubs)
  • Accounting & finance (assisting with itemized budget creation, financial tracking, and financial controls)
  • Operations (supporting internal process documentation, compliance tracking, and organizational systems)
  • Research (gathering competitive intelligence, benchmarking peer organizations, and informing leadership decisions)

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a high school or college/university program
  • Interest in business administration, nonprofit management, finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (especially spreadsheets and documents)
  • Analytical mindset and comfort working with data and numbers
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or experience in accounting, finance, business strategy, or nonprofit administration
  • Familiarity with nonprofit operations or 501(c)(3) compliance
  • Experience with budgeting tools or financial software
