Marketing & Sales Intern

OrderMatic Summer Intern Program 2026

Location: Cleveland, OH (in-office) Duration: 10 weeks (June 2 – August 15) Compensation: $20/hr (W-2) + performance bonuses Openings: 2 positions (1 Sales, 1 Content & Marketing)

About OrderMatic

OrderMatic automates order entry for B2B industrial distributors — eliminating the manual data entry that bogs down companies processing orders via email, fax, PDFs, and phone calls. We're an early-stage startup moving fast, and this internship is built to match.

The Program

Two interns. Two pods. Real work from day one. You'll join either our Sales pod (reporting to Dan Mizener, CRO) or our Content & Marketing pod (reporting to David Boone, CEO, with day-to-day management from Destiny Wiley, Head of Ops & Marketing). Both pods meet weekly for cross-team collaboration.

Role 1: Sales Development Intern

You'll be the first point of contact for B2B distributors across Northeast Ohio — qualifying prospects by phone, email, and in-person walk-ins, then handing off demos to our CRO. This is a real sales role: you'll work a territory, own a number, and learn the same outbound playbook Dan built over 18 years in industrial sales.

What You'll Do

  • Phone outreach: 40–50 dials/day, targeting owners, GMs, and ops managers at industrial distributors
  • On-foot walk-ins at supply houses, warehouses, and counter locations in your territory
  • Research and build weekly target account lists
  • Qualify prospects and hand off demos to Dan via warm intro email
  • Log every call, walk-in, and conversation in the pipeline tracker
  • Submit a weekly report: calls, walk-ins, conversations, demos booked, learnings

What We're Looking For

  • Comfortable on the phone and not afraid of rejection
  • Self-starter who can manage a territory without hand-holding
  • Organized enough to track every conversation and follow up
  • Knows Cleveland geography (or willing to learn fast)
  • Any sales, customer service, or retail experience is a plus

What You'll Learn

  • Real B2B outbound sales: cold calling, qualifying, objection handling
  • Territory management and pipeline discipline
  • How to sell a technical product to non-technical buyers
  • How an early-stage startup builds revenue from zero
  • Direct mentorship from a CRO with 18 years of field sales experience

Compensation & Bonuses

  • Base: $20/hr
  • $100 per qualified demo confirmed by Dan
  • $500 monthly bonus for 10+ qualified demos in a calendar month
  • $1,500 per closed deal sourced from your pipeline

Role 2: Content & Marketing Intern

You'll run OrderMatic's social media presence, create marketing content, and help build our brand in the industrial distribution space. You'll write real posts that go live to real audiences — not theoretical marketing plans.

What You'll Do

  • Write and schedule LinkedIn posts in the founders' voices (3x/week per founder + company page)
  • Manage daily Twitter/X content across company and founder accounts
  • Create supporting visuals: graphics, carousels, and one-pagers (Canva)
  • Draft sales collateral, case study outlines, and conference materials as needed
  • Monitor and report on engagement and performance metrics weekly
  • Submit a weekly report every Friday: content published, metrics, learnings, next week's plan

What We're Looking For

  • Strong writer who can adapt to different voices and tones
  • Understands LinkedIn as a B2B platform
  • Organized and self-directed — can manage multiple content calendars without constant reminders
  • Curious about the industrial/distribution world (no prior knowledge needed, just genuine interest)
  • Portfolio of writing samples or social media work is a plus
  • Comfortable with light graphic design (Canva-level is fine)

What You'll Learn

  • B2B content marketing and social selling strategy
  • How to ghostwrite for executive audiences across multiple platforms
  • Content calendar management at a fast-moving startup
  • How marketing directly supports sales pipeline
  • Direct mentorship from a CEO (Harvard CS, ex-Microsoft) and a marketing lead

Compensation & Bonuses

  • Base: $20/hr
  • $300 monthly bonus if all content calendars are fully executed on time
  • $200 bonus for any single post that exceeds 5,000 impressions

Program Perks (Both Roles)

  • Weekly all-hands with both pods — sales intel fuels content, content supports sales
  • Mid-program check-in (Week 5) to review progress and discuss potential extended role
  • Final presentation to founders at Week 10
  • Exit interview + reference letter at program end
