Summer Fellowship | Public Policy, Outreach & Community Engagement

Join the Summer 2026 Fellowship supporting Gloria Romero Roses’ campaign for Florida State House — a hands-on program designed for students and emerging leaders interested in civic engagement, grassroots organizing, public service, and campaign operations.

This fellowship combines real-world organizing experience with professional development, mentorship, and team-based collaboration in one of Florida’s most important local races.

What you’ll do

As a Team Fellow, you’ll work directly with campaign staff and Team Managers to support outreach and organizing efforts across the district.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Participating in voter outreach through canvassing, phone banking, and text banking
  • Supporting campaign events, community forums, and organizing activities
  • Collaborating with your team to execute campaign strategy
  • Tracking outreach efforts and participation data
  • Helping brainstorm ideas and improve campaign operations
  • Attending trainings, fellowship meetings, and professional development sessions

Available teams

Fellows can apply to join one of five teams:

  1. Field: Help lead voter outreach efforts through canvassing, phone banking, volunteer coordination, and organizing days of action.
  2. Outreach: Build relationships with community organizations, HOAs, civic groups, and local stakeholders while supporting meet & greets and outreach events.
  3. People Operations: Support fellowship logistics, attendance tracking, onboarding, internal systems, fellowship culture, and event coordination.
  4. Small Business Initiative: Engage with small business owners across the district, support outreach efforts, and assist with business meet-ups and communications.
  5. Social Media: Create content, capture campaign events, monitor engagement, and help grow the campaign’s digital presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X.

The fellowship operates across five active teams designed to give fellows practical experience in different areas of organizing and campaign work.

No prior campaign experience is required.

Position details

Program dates: June 8 – August 18, 2026
Time commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week
Location: Hybrid, with in-person activities in Miami
Compensation: Community service hours available (up to 100 hours)

Fellows contribute directly to campaign operations through voter outreach, organizing, events, and team-based projects while receiving structured mentorship and training.
